Going Back To School!!!

I'm going back to school after all ... only instead of going for Practical Nursing I am going for Massage Therapy. I'm SO very excited!!! Being a healing art, it's really more in line with how I think about health and wellness anyway. I'm so very thankful to my online friend from Magic Hands Workshop for telling me about her experiences as a Massage Therapist. Out of her kindness blossomed an inquiry to the local Career Institute ... a little nudge from the universe. Thanks, Jackie!!!

Friday I had a visit with the Admissions Counselor and a tour of the campus. They sent me home with some homework (for Student Finance) and a study guide for the pre-admissions test. OMG, I have not been a student in FOREVER, LOL!!!

Today I went back up to the campus to take my test and finish the enrollment process. I scored very well on the test (it was basic language arts, reading comprehension and math - no calculator). That was exciting to me! I completed the necessary paperwork and I'm all set to begin classes later this month!!!

Orientation is on May 19 and classes begin on May 20. I will be in school full-time until February, which means my plans for reopening the soap shop may have to be on hold for a little while. When I know what my commitment for classes and homework will be, I will know better if I'm able to keep up with soaping, too.

Thanks for allowing me to share my exciting news!!!

Cheers,
Dana

News & an Update

It has been nearly two months since I closed my web store on Etsy. While I haven't done much in the way of soaping, I have been doing a lot of soul-searching.

I had intended to go back to school to get my nursing license. After some long talks with my partner (who is also my very best friend), I've come to the realization that perhaps the pursuit of Western Medicine isn't my calling. I'd love to study some principles of Eastern Medicine and perhaps even begin with aromatherapy. But I will not be putting it at the forefront right now.

I also miss soaping. Making soap was a great creative outlet for me - and I'm rather lost without it. I've made three new scents - they will be ready to offer here around the 1st of May (which also happens to be my Etsyversary). I'm considering reopening the web store and offering the three scents I have available.

Green Clover & Aloe Soap

Eventually, I'm considering a name change. That will depend on how well the reopening goes and how motivated I am to put the leg work into launching a new store. For now, I figure I am able to test market the new scent selections from Moon Maiden so it works out well ... and my fabulous customers know right where to find me, too.

If you're interested in knowing when the shop reopens, you can sign up through Etsy to receive a one-time notification when the shop comes back online.

Until then!

All soap prices in my Etsy shop have now been reduced to just $3 per bar. That is a 40% savings off of my regular retail. They are moving FAST - if you would like some before they're all gone, I invite you to stop by:

Store Closing - Inventory Reduction Sale - 20% Off!

Greetings!

I'd like to announce the closing of my Etsy Shop and the accompanying Inventory Reduction Sale. I've reduced my prices by 20% and filled my shop with my remaining inventory of Goats Milk Soap. When these bars are gone, I will not be listing new items in my shop.

I'm planning to enroll for the Fall term at the same college my husband just attended to also get my LPN license. It will be a year-long accelerated program so the course work (and homework) are intense. Between school and mothering - I will not have time to devote to making new soap.

Perhaps I will restock the store with fresh soap after graduation sometime next year.

For now, I'd really like to thank all who made my time on Etsy a success - you're all very much appreciated.

Cheers!
